Ethnolink secures dual Queensland Government panel appointments through to 2030

by Steph Speight

Ethnolink has been appointed to two Queensland Government Preferred Supplier Panels, strengthening its position as a provider of translation, strategic communications, and community engagement services across the state following competitive procurement processes.

Ethnolink was awarded a five-year contract under the Queensland Government’s Preferred Supplier Panel for Interpreting and Translating Services (PSP126161), led by Queensland Health. The whole-of-government arrangement came into effect on 1 December 2025 and enables Queensland Government departments, statutory authorities, and funded organisations to directly engage Ethnolink for translation services. The initial term runs through to November 2030, with extension options that may see the arrangement continue through to November 2035.

Ethnolink was appointed to both service categories it applied for, covering translation services in Aboriginal Peoples’ and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ languages, as well as translation services supporting migrant communities across Queensland. These services help ensure equitable access to essential government information and enable agencies to communicate effectively with communities in the language they understand best.

In a second major appointment, Ethnolink was also appointed to the Queensland Government’s Professional Services Preferred Supplier Panel (GGS0111-24), which commenced on 1 September 2025. The arrangement is currently in place until 31 August 2030. Ethnolink was appointed to the Communication and Engagement category, under the subcategories of Strategic Communications and Engagement and Co-Design.

These appointments enable Ethnolink to support Queensland Government agencies to engage Ethnolink across the full communications lifecycle, from strategic communications planning and community engagement through to translation, localisation, and in-language delivery.

Costa Vasili, Founder and CEO of Ethnolink, said the dual appointments reflect the growing importance of culturally and linguistically appropriate communications in service delivery. “As Queensland becomes increasingly diverse, communications must be delivered in-language to ensure multicultural communities can access, understand, and act on essential information,” Mr Vasili said. “We look forward to working closely with Queensland Government agencies to support effective communication with communities across the state, from strategic communications and engagement through to in-language delivery.”

The appointments reinforce Ethnolink’s expanding presence in Queensland and follow a major national campaign win leading a natural hazard preparedness campaign for multicultural communities on behalf of the Queensland Reconstruction Authority, backed by $1.5 million in federal funding and launching in 2026. The campaign will deliver culturally appropriate communications to communities across Queensland and nationwide, strengthening disaster preparedness and resilience at scale.

Cameron Darke, Head of Growth at Ethnolink, said the appointments strengthen Ethnolink’s ability to support Queensland Government agencies with communications solutions. “These appointments enable Queensland Government agencies to work with Ethnolink for the provision of strategic communications and translation services,” Mr Darke said. “This supports more effective engagement with communities across Queensland.”

Ethnolink is continuing to expand its operations in Queensland and will host its first Ethnolink Summit in Brisbane later in 2026, bringing together government, communications, and community leaders to advance best practice in multilingual communications and engagement.
